Useful robotics data needs more than scale.
Before starting Kinemor, we spent several months at an SF-based physical AI and robotics data company as it scaled from 100K to 1M hours of egocentric data.
Our experience covered field data collection, warehouse operations, logistics, data ingestion, and backend engineering for its crowdsourcing app, which reached 200K signups and 50K daily active users.
That taught us a simple lesson: useful robotics data needs more than scale. It needs context, reliable infrastructure, quality control, ethical collection, and a path across embodiment gaps, sim-to-real issues, and hardware differences.
