ETHICAL DATA
Permission first.
Robotics data is real-world data. It should be collected with consent, limits, and respect for people and places.
Principles
- No covert capture.
- No collection in places where people reasonably expect privacy.
- Minimize personal details that the robot-learning task does not need.
- Review sensitive faces, badges, screens, documents, and facility details before delivery.
- Respect usage rights agreed with contributors, sites, and customers.
Human context
We want robots to learn from real work without treating workers, contributors, or facilities as invisible sources of data.
Limits
Some programs may require extra consent, redaction, legal review, safety review, or refusal if the requested capture is not appropriate.
